Hi Heather - I don't know the exact name in English, but those are called Sou Bou or Chinese birthday bun. They are a steamed bun with lotus paste in the middle and are usually served at the end of dinner for a person's birthday.

My sister and I tried this restaurant and were thoroughly impressed by the fantastic value, nice environment and delish food. The food is much better than the small portions and ok quality of Thai House, down the road.

We're adding this restaurnant to our favourits list.

Hi Samantha - Yikes...if you have been there six times already, I'd say you've been more than patient! I haven't been back to Crave since that one time I reviewed it.

Gulp. I went to Crave thinking I'd have a bunch of small plates with a friend but we ended up sharing an appy and going with mains. The service was very disappointing and I was again distracted by the noise level and tightness of the tables. I have to admit that the food was not spectacular enough to bring me back again, so this is the sixth time and final time I have eaten there.

Hi Lucy - good idea on the fondue set...I think that would definitely make the dipping part a lot easier! Maybe Samantha can try that the next time she makes the strawberries and report back to us :)

I agree with alison, it is the real thing in japan, they shave the wasabi root so it's not as pasty as the version you're used to here. :)
