I was sad to miss the kickoff, but now my hopes are raised at the mention that they'll be doing the tasting again on May 16th because I will be in town! This is the first I've heard of them doing the tastings again next weekend, I've been trying to get information from the Chef's Table Society and Fisherman's Wharf - but the press release provided only mentions the cooking demonstrations on the 10th/16th but say nothing about another tasting event on May 16th - how did you find out about it, did you you see the info posted when you were there on May 9th? I'm glad you liked Medina :) I didn't buy any prawns from the docks but I'll likely buy some in the next couple of weeks to try out. I noticed on the weekend that they were selling for $10.99/lb at the T&T in Chinatown but I guess for $1/lb more, you get the super fresh stuff straight from the boat. I'm planning to just steam or boil the prawns quickly in water and I'll whip up a dipping sauce that I learned from my uncle's parents: white wine vinegar, soy sauce, and a bit of olive oil.
